The Edwards EH2600 is a mechanical booster pump designed to significantly enhance the performance of vacuum systems by increasing pumping speeds, particularly in the pressure range of 0.01 to 50 mbar. Operating on the Roots principle, it requires a suitable backing pump to function effectively.

Hydrokinetic Drive: The EH2600 incorporates Edwards’ patented hydrokinetic fluid drive, allowing the booster pump to start simultaneously with the backing pump from atmospheric pressure. This feature reduces pump-down times by up to 50% compared to conventional direct-drive pumps and eliminates the need for bypass lines or pressure switches.
High Pumping Speed: The pump delivers a displacement of 2,590 m³/h at 50 Hz and 3,110 m³/h at 60 Hz, making it suitable for applications requiring rapid evacuation.
Robust Construction: Featuring a high-quality, oil-free pumping mechanism with rotors and shafts made of corrosion-resistant cast iron, the EH2600 ensures durability and reliability.
Automatic Overload Protection: The hydrokinetic drive automatically adjusts the pump’s rotational speed to protect the motor from overload and prevent overheating, allowing the pump to operate safely under high-pressure differentials.
Cooling Requirements: The pump body is water-cooled, with a recommended cooling water flow of 4 litres per minute to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
